Trendbook membership
Create freely.
Publish with purpose.
Trendbook gives new curators room to build,
experiment and establish their point of view before
membership becomes necessary. Publishing allowances and
membership access are managed through Trendbook's
entitlement system.
Current standard policy
Up to 5 complimentary published looks
Draft creation remains available while your standard
allowance is based on published looks. Once all
complimentary publishing places are in use, Curator
Membership is required to publish an additional look.
Drafts
Create and develop privately
Under the standard published-look policy, drafts do
not consume your complimentary publishing allowance.
Published looks
5 complimentary looks
Each currently published look occupies one
complimentary publishing place.
Membership
Continue beyond your allowance
Active Curator Membership removes the standard
complimentary publishing restriction.
Flexibility
Entitlements can vary
Founding, invited, professional or promotional
accounts may have different allowances or access.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to subscribe before creating anything?
No. Under Trendbook's current standard policy,
new curators can create drafts and use a
complimentary publishing allowance before paid
membership is required.
How many looks can I publish without membership?
The current standard allowance is
5 published looks.
Trendbook can change this allowance or provide
different allowances to specific account types.
Does a draft count against my publishing allowance?
Not under the current standard configuration.
The standard quota measures
published looks, so a private draft
can be developed without consuming a publishing
place.
What happens when I publish a draft?
A successful transition from draft to published
consumes one publishing place. Trendbook checks the
entitlement on the server before allowing the
publication.
What happens when all complimentary looks are used?
Your existing work remains available. Under the
standard policy, you can continue managing your
existing content, but an additional publication
requires Curator Membership unless you first free a
publishing place.
What happens if I unpublish a look?
The look returns to draft status and its publishing
place is released. You can then use that place for
another look.
What happens if I delete a draft?
Its creation usage is removed from your account's
current usage record. It does not affect your
published-look allowance if it was never published.
What happens if I delete a published look?
The look is removed and its publishing place is
released. Its current creation usage is also removed
from the entitlement record.
Are the 5 complimentary looks a lifetime limit?
No. The current implementation treats the allowance
as the number of complimentary published looks you
can have in use at the same time. Unpublishing or
deleting a published look releases that place.
Can Trendbook use a creation limit instead?
Yes. The entitlement policy can be configured to
measure either created looks or
published looks. This lets
Trendbook change commercial rules without changing
the curator's identity or payment account.
Can different curators have different allowances?
Yes. Trendbook supports account-specific
entitlements. A curator may receive a larger
complimentary allowance, unlimited access,
temporary complimentary access, or another
membership configuration.
What is a Founding Curator?
Trendbook can identify selected early or invited
accounts as Founding Curators. This status can be
paired with special publishing allowances or
complimentary access. The exact benefits can evolve
as the platform develops.
Does someone get access simply by changing something in the browser?
No. Publishing entitlement and membership status are
checked by the Trendbook backend against the
authenticated account. Browser values are not used
as authority for ownership, subscription status or
publishing allowance.
What if a publishing operation fails?
Trendbook reserves entitlement before a publication
is committed. If the underlying look cannot be
saved, the reserved place is released again so a
failed operation does not intentionally consume an
allowance.
What if my entitlement count becomes inconsistent?
Trendbook maintains usage counters for efficient
checks, but the canonical look records remain the
source used for reconciliation. Usage can be rebuilt
from the account's stored looks when necessary.
Does membership affect public visitors viewing my looks?
No. Published looks remain part of Trendbook's
public discovery experience according to their
visibility rules. Entitlements govern curator
creation and publishing capabilities rather than
requiring visitors to authenticate simply to view a
public look.
